Most outstanding features: The home was designed to fit into a wooded area and to bring the design elements from the exterior throughout the home. This home was designed to be a Prairiestyle home, but with an interior that offered the flexibility of going contemporary or traditional.
The inspiration for the home came from the land, as well as the views and the landscaping that surrounds it. In the tradition of the Prairie style, natural textures and colors are echoed in the lines, elevations and palette of the home itself.
The feeling of timber and sheltering woodland are interpreted by expanses of hardwood flooring. Warm trim and millwork match the tone of custom flat-panel cherry cabinetry.
Underscoring the feeling of rugged, yet discerning individualism is the hearth room’s distinctive slate floor. It’s a visual statement that finds resonance in a full-height slate fireplace surround.
To stay technically ahead of the curve, surround sound and flat screen television viewing were integrated into the home’s design. The aim was to allow maximum ease and enjoyment…while hiding unsightly wires.
In design sensibility, the home harkens back to the principles of Frank Lloyd Wright. In ease and livability, it’s consummately right for today.
